In NCAA Football 07, several players stood out as top performers. Adrian Peterson (Oklahoma) was highly rated at halfback with a 98 overall rating, Other top halfbacks included Ian Johnson (Boise State), with a 94 rating, Marshawn “ Beast Mode” Lynch (Cal) is a 94 overall Kevin Smith (UCF). For quarterbacks, Brady Quinn (Notre Dame) was a top-rated player with a 97 overall rating. Troy Smith (Ohio State) Drew Stanton (Michigan State) also received high ratings. In terms of defense, Calais Campbell (Miami) was a standout defensive end, Marty Tadman (Boise State) was a highly rated free safety. To me though the biggest upgrade from 06 to 07 was changing “Race for the Heisman” to “Campus Legend.” This really laid the ground work for what would ultimately become “Road to Glory” in the series down the road. For the first time, you had to declare a major in college and actually go to class. Depending on what major you picked you’d receive a ratings boost over the course of your career, and if you didn’t maintain a certain GPA you would get suspended. It also introduced the option to do “social activities” which helped your status as a campus legend.
