Our Sprinter took us on many road trips.  It's a perfect van for a family of 4.  It is very simple but has everything you need for weekend  or long tern road trips.  The 4 cylinder turbo gets 20-21 mpg and has plenty of power.  A 2nd marine battery runs the roof vent fan, all the lights, multiple charging ports throughout the van and the small refrigerator in between the 2 front seats.  It has seating for 7 people and sleeping for 2 adults and 2 small kids.  All back windows are limo tinted along with lighter shades on the front window.  BIg metal bumper on the front of the van with fog lamps.  Service / oil change is only needed every 20,000 miles and it was just done.  All 4 new tires.  I've been the first and only owner and have take great care of this van.  It's been very dependable van. 129,000 miles
