OPHELIA IN HER MADNESS ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAVURE FERDINAND PILOTY LATE 1800S THE ORIGINAL ARTWORK OPHELIA IN HER MADNESS IS A SCENE FROM SHAKESPEARE'S HAMLET. THE ARTIST FERDINAND VON PILOTY DEPICTED OPHELIA AFTER THE TRAUMATIC DEATH OF HER FATHER PILONIUS AT THE HANDS OF HAMLET. THIS WAS SHOWN AT THE INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION IN MUNICH. SHORTY AFTER THIS WAS EXHIBITED, THIS PHOTOGRAVURE WAS CREATED. DIMENSIONS ARE 11 3/4" X 17 1/8" I FOUND THIS ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAVURE IN AN OLD ATTIC IN THE LATE 1970S. THIS HOME WAS BUILT IN THE 1700S IN CONNECTICUT. THIS WAS IN A SECTION OF THE ATTIC THAT HADN'T BEEN EXPLORED IN YEARS. VERY GOOD FOR ITS AGE THERE ARE IMPERFECTIONS LIKE SPOTTING. THE ACTUAL PHOTOGRAVURE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THIS WOULD LOOK ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL WHEN FRAMED. 7
