Description
Gorgeous and rare Yamaha upright piano. If you’re looking for something compact without sacrificing quality, here it is. It has an incredible tone that I’ve used in a professional recording studio with fantastic results. I’m very sad to sell but I am moving and it can’t come with me. I’m the 2nd owner, the original owner purchased the piano in the 70s and said it was never played. I believe them, as the hammers are in incredible shape. It sat in a living room away from windows for its entire life until I purchased it in 2021. If you’re unfamiliar, a Spinet upright piano is the smallest/shortest variation of upright pianos, so they are very manageable, easy to move, not quite as loud, and don’t take up too much room, while still being a full size 88 key piano. I’ve made tons of records with this piano, it especially shines with felt over the strings, absolutely beautiful and delicate sound. Songs just poured out of it, I’m bummed to sell! Of course it’s a Yamaha, and is amazingly well built. If you know you know. They’re the best in the industry. I used it in a professional setting, and it shined, but this piano would be great for a beginner as well, due to its smaller size / sound. It’s a bit less intrusive than a larger upright. The cosmetic condition is 9.5 out of 10. There are only a few very minor marks on the piano, nothing you can see unless you have your face up to them. It’s in great shape. Functionally it’s a 10/10. No issues whatsoever, everything works as it should and I kept it maintained and tuned for the entire time I’ve owned it. It’s truly a special piano, and I have yet to ever see another spinet of its kind for sale. Vintage matching bench with vintage yellow cushion included. I will also include the felt and clips I used to get that delicate sound. I basically always had it on the piano and am happy to pass that on to the new owner. You are welcome to come see it in my studio. I’m located in Van Nuys. $1,850 OBO.
