Description

From my Grandfather's toolbox, this is a pair of vintage 1950s- early '60s Proto Professional #280 Slip-Joint 10" Pliers. Made in the U.S.A. Marked, "PROTO 280 LOS ANGELES MFD U.S.A." on the jaw. (This is likely an earlier version of this tool than those without the 'L.A.' marking.) Overall good vintage condition. Has a little bit of decoration: a pattern molded into the drop-forged outer surface of the handles (see photos). There are signs of wear on the tool (see photos), but it still works as designed. The Proto 280 is a large, meaty, seriously heavy-duty tool (see last photo). For the collector, or ready to go into your toolbox for those big jobs! Local (Cincinnati-area) pickup only.
