Description

Antique Mulberry Staffordshire Transfer Ware 10" Plate Baronial Pattern Date: Mid to late 1800s. Origin: Staffordshire, England An antique mulberry colored transfer ware or transferware plate in the Baronial pattern. The plate has a central scene with a waterway having three gondola like boats with a middle eastern style castle in the background having tall towers or minarets and a central copula or dome with trees in the forefront. There are clouds in the sky above. There are people on the boats. The plate has a round plain rim with a curved wide edge decorated with garlands of vines and flowers and having alternating framed design inter-dispersed within the garlands. These are a flower design and a design of a castle similar to the one in the center of the plate, with both designs being framed in cartouches. No Chips or Cracks Pickup in Turlock
