Antique Brunswick-Balke-Collender Billiards Pool Table with Monarch Cushion. I believe this table is called "The Challenge" from their 1911 catalog. DESCRIPTION / CONDITION ----------- Oak framed and with renewed leather pockets, on square tapered column legs, bearing brass maker's label' `Brunswick-Balke-Collender Monarch Cushions', all parts are stamped with the serial #12428. - Oak is in great condition for its age. - All the slate pieces are in excellent condition. - Felt is a little dirty, but no tears. Please use photos as reference to condition. PROVENANCE ----------- This table is really special. Its one of the very first Brunswick tables before Brunswick split into their own company. The table was owned by grandfather who had it in one of his restaurants in the 1970's/early 80's. In 1981 my Grandfather sold that restaurant, put the table into a moving truck along with other items from the restaurant and parked the truck on the family ranch where it sat undisturbed until January 2023. We, as the family always knew the table was in the very front of that moving truck and had discussions over the years about getting it out and putting it to use for all of us to enjoy. However, the magnitude of the project to remove it and the space needed to house such a large table led it to stay where it was for the last 41 years. Fast forward to present day. We are selling the family ranch, so we had no choice to take on the project of moving the table. While removing everything out of the truck we were delighted to discover the great lengths my Grandfather went into making sure the Billiards Table was well protected. It looks exactly as it did when it was placed there back in 1981.
