This Discrete 3 Head, Direct Drive, Double Capstan, Microprocessor Controlled Cassette Deck has been Professionally Serviced. This is an absolutely wonderful professional cassette deck from Nakamichi that has excellent build quality and performance. This nice cassette deck was built in Japan and is a top performer. It has the "B" designation which denotes this machine's record and playback equalization conforms to the IEC March 1981 equalization standard, rather than the earlier 1976 IEC standard which Nakamichi had followed since the introduction of their first products in the early 70's. The A and B versions are not differentiated in any way on the front or back panels and both are identified as being MR-1's. MR-1B models are marked with a small white dot affixed to the bottom panel near the rear of the machine. The advantage of the B version is that tapes made with this machine sound great when played back in other non-Nakamichi machines because it conforms to the industry equalization standard. All of the belts have recently been replaced and this unit has been thoroughly serviced throughout. All of the inputs and outputs work as they should. All Playback and Record functions perform to specification. Fast Forward and Rewind of a 90 minute, Maxell XLII tape performs in both directions in a speedy 1 minute and 30 seconds.
