Description
This piece was created in 1993 for the annual Prix de West Invitational Show, held at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum (then known as the Cowboy Hall of Fame) in Oklahoma City and it won the Frederic Remington Award. The artwork depicts three cowboys and their horses gathered around a fire before daybreak. The term "brush hand" refers to a cowboy who works in rough, brushy country to find wild cattle.
