Vintage 1940 Buescher Aristocrat Series 2 Alto Saxophone

Amazing vintage Buescher Aristocrat series 2 "Big B" alto! This horn was made in 1940, early after the series 2 aristocrat was introduced, and ushered in the advent of some of Buescher's most well-regarded saxophones (including the Big Bs). This one is a rare matte silver finish and has aged in a very peculiar and cool way, assuming a blue hue in its darker areas. The engraving is sharp and the horn is very clean beyond its patina with the minor exception of an un-patinaed bright silver diamond where the lyre holder was removed. Currently it is playing well on older pads, with a bright but full and sweet sound, but would benefit from some new pads and adjustment materials to play its best. People love these horns for just about everything from rock and roll to classical, and beyond its striking art deco appearance it's a very sturdy and well-built horn ready to wail. Comes in a vintage reunion blues gig bag, but for my asking price I will also include a new contoured Pro Tec case for more protection.
