NEW! Memorex 9208 Retro Type AM/FM/TAPE/CD/PHONO Player Gr8 For Office

First, this is a new unit with the plastic wrap on the front panel and no scratches or wear. You MAY find used ones on ebay that are priced close to this but unless a local sale, the shipping is quite a bit. If you have a doctor, lawyer or dentist office, you want music in your personal office (or reception) but you dont want to put an ugly "boombox" or shelf stereo. Also great for a living room or a room in the house where "mom" wont allow a stereo as it doesnt "look right". This is a furniture grade mahogany colored set that is made to look like a 1940s console radio. The controls and front panel are made with an antiqued metal finish to go along with the mahogany wood. The coolest part is you can play the old records you have or that dad saved along with any modern CDS or the radio. For records, you lift the lid, so you must have at least 6 or 7 inches of clearance above the unit. For an office, put your favorite CD in and program for repeat or shuffle play. Or leave it on FM and when you want to check out a record, just open the top. These and similar models were sold under various brand names (Crosley, Letac and a few others) and were a big seller on QVC at almost $200. Of course, shipping on these is not cheap, which is why buying local makes sense. A brand new unit with the plastic covering still on the displays (see photo where I peeled back corner...no room here but ask as i have more pictures ) Every part was tested except the cassette as I do not own one anymore, but it was tested to function FF, REW and Play. I will bring a record to test. In fact, I will give you several records with this as I have dozens I do not want and can not use. The sound is far superior to many smaller boombox radios and I was quite surprised by the fullness. Of course, this is not supposed to be a home theater system, but a source of music in a compact package that looks as good as it sounds
