Beautiful pair of authentic mid-century hand-carved solid hardwood busts. These pieces depict the famous Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and his empress Mumtaz Mahal (the inspiration behind the building of the Taj Mahal). Brought to the US internationally by family in the 1960s. Each features stunning, intricate carved details in the clothing, jewelry, hair, and headpieces. The backs are neatly hand-engraved with their names ("Shah Jahan" and "Mumtaz"). Dimensions: 11.5 inches tall x 8 inches wide each Condition: Excellent vintage condition with deep natural wood grain. Perfect for Mid-Century Modern (MCM), Boho, or global travel decor.
