Antique DR. DAVID ROBERTS' Veterinary Medicines Store Display Stand 42" x 26"

Very rare antique Dr. David Roberts' Veterinary Medicines general country store display stand. Most likely dates back to the late 19th century when Dr. Roberts was a practicing veterinarian in Wisconsin. The display stand was issued to country stores to sell his patent medicines. The tin lithograph point of sale piece includes the advertising topper which is missing from the very few stands sold in the past, the topper reads "DR DAVID ROBERTS VETERINARY PRESCRIPTIONS". The body of the stand is lithographed faux wood, individual spots on the shelves are labeled with various names of medicines with a cutout for each product. The bottom lithograph reads "USE DR. DAVID ROBERTS' VETERINARY MEDICINES FOR ALL ANIMAL AILMENTS" and shows an image of Dr. Roberts in front of his Wisconsin farm in Waukesha. The stand displays beautifully and is in very good condition with expected wear from age and use, which includes scratches, scuffs, staining, oxidation, areas of surface rust (see photos). Right side door is missing. Measures approximately 42"h x 26"w x 19"d and weighs 32 lbs.
