1917 $2 Legal Tender Large Note -- VERY SCARCE HIGH GRADE CURRENCY!

For sale is a very cool and very rare 1917 $2 Legal Tender Large Note. Legal Tender Notes were a little different than Federal Reserve Notes in that the funding for them came right from the U.S. budget vs. the Federal Reserve Bank. The distinctive feature of Legal Tender Notes are they usually have red seals and serial numbers to them. Legal Tender notes were printed from the late 1800's all the way until 1963--the ones most people are familiar with are the small red $2 and $5 Notes. There are several things that make this 1917 $2 Note so rare. First, aside from its age, is they did not print a ton of them, and of those not many survived to this day. Second, the note is in remarkably high grade condition for a note of its age. The note features Thomas Jefferson, just like $2 Notes of today, and in the center it features a portrait of the U.S. Capitol. As you can see from the pics the note is in amazing high grade shape, and it would come in at a near-uncirculated grade. In fact the only thing keeping it from being fully uncirculated is some very subtle folds to it, which is very common with notes this old because they were so large they had to be folded. The white and red colors are bold and vibrant and there are no rips or tears or major stains at all. It really is an amazing note! This is an amazing vintage Note great for any currency collection.
