My dad was quoted a price for a car. When we drove to the dealership to purchase the vehicle at that price, we were told that it was a "mistake" and "miscommunication". They flatly refused to honor the price. I believe that they willfully tried to bait my dad into coming down to the dealership with the lowball price, at which point they would pressure him into paying the higher price. I am so glad I was with him today, otherwise they would have probably succeeded in taking advantage of an elderly guy. I am sure they will respond and try to claim that it was an honest mistake. But the reality is that as soon as the salesman saw that my dad wasn't alone, he was super rude and couldn't even come up with a reasonable explanation for why he quoted a price that he couldn't honor. Taking advantage of anyone is not right. Taking advantage of senior citizens is especially cruel. If you're shopping for a car, go anywhere but Duffy's.
