Description
DB’s top-of-the-line downhill racing mtb in 1991. This bike is a lot of fun and also quite rare from what I understand. The neon green splash paint has faded into a unique electric mint color. I have owned this bike for 3 years and used it to ride trails, haul groceries, cruise through the snow, and I have learned a lot about bike repair with it. Most of the original Deore XT/Avenir/Tioga components are here. I had to replace the rear wheel and decided to make it an 8-speed. I then replaced the 7-speed combo brake/shifters with Deore XT levers and Suntour XC 3x7/8 thumb shifters. I flipped the thumbies to fit the hand better. The old saddle was toast—there is a Selle Turbo in its place. The Titec Hellbent riser handlebars are about 65cm wide, and the riser stem brings them up to a comfortable height. If you would prefer a more aggressive fit, I will throw in the original stem + straight handlebars—just ask. The Rene Herse Humptulips 26” x 2.3” tubeless ready tires with endurance casing have seen >1,000 miles and the tread on both tires is still quite good. Big plush tires covered with SKS p55 fenders. The True Temper OX steel tubes are strong and light. The Mt. Zefal Plus frame pump works okay. $350 obo. Message me to meet up or if you have any questions. Thanks!
