Description

A pair of Nguni dining chairs designed by John Vogel for West Elm in excellent condition. Made from solid iroko wood, the chairs are light but also made sturdy and durable by the four rectangular stretcher beams, one between each pair of legs. The Nguni chair has elements of Danish Modern design, like Hans Wegner's elbow chair, but also has certain elements that differentiate it — the weave is made from a viscose blend that is both durable and easier to clean than paper cord; the legs splay and taper more apparently. The weave is in perfect condition on all chairs. The frames show very light signs of prior use. Overall in excellent condition.
