Diatom filters utilize diatomaceous earth (DE) for removing particulates, cleaning bacterial blooms, polishing the water and some even claim it can filter out parasite free swimmers, viruses and harmful bacteria (akin to running a uv sterilizer). Must be used with pool grade DE, which is included. Will clear any cloudy water without wasting money on a 100% water change.
