Description

Never used Cranberry glass Cut Crystal or gold ruby glass, Brass Ruby red made by adding gold to the glass during the manufacturing process. Gold salts or colloidal gold are added to hot molten glass. The amount of gold added affects the shade of the red, from a light pink to a deeper burgundy. Cranberry glass has a rich history, dating back to the Roman Empire, It was rediscovered in 1612 when Antonio Neri added gold to molten glass and gained popularity during the 19th century, particularly in Britain and America. This is a footed Compote, Nuts, Bowl with lid and Handles, 7” in diameter, 5” tall to the rim and 8” tall to the top. This is part of my collection and was never used, it only decorated my display case.
