Description

After 20+ years of rescuing, restoring, and rehoming turntables, this one’s a little harder to let go. You’re looking at a Pioneer PL-112D, released in the mid-1970s — and like all great things from that era (Zeppelin, shag carpet, questionable fashion choices), it was built to last. This beauty is fully manual, which means no buttons doing the thinking for you. You lift the tonearm, you place the needle — like nature (and audiophiles) intended. There’s something incredibly satisfying about being involved in your music, and this deck delivers that analog intimacy in spades. Highlights: • Classic Pioneer engineering — warm sound, rock-solid mechanics, and timeless design. These folks knew how to build gear that feels like quality. • Comes with its original headshell (try finding one of those lying around — I dare you). • Fitted with an Audio-Technica cartridge that sounds clean and crisp — ready to track your vinyl like a bloodhound on a scent. • Dust cover in good shape for its age. Not mint, but not trashed — think “dignified aging rocker” not “bar brawler.” • A few cosmetic scuffs here and there (hey, it’s nearly 50!), but nothing that affects performance. This turntable is a workhorse, not a museum piece. I’ve bought, sold, and spun countless decks over two decades, and this one still makes me smile every time I cue up a record.
