Description
This is an antique G. Puglisi, Reale & Figli guitar made in Catania, Sicily in 1925. It features: - Ant family crest with the words “G. Puglisis Reale & Figli Catania 1791” stamped on lower bout, treble side of soundboard - Slotted peghead with brass tuning machines that appear to be original - 25-1/2” total scale length - 12 frets to body with 17 frets total. Frets appear to be original - Spruce soundboard with ornate wood inlay soundhole rosette, and intricate wood purfling/bidning (no binding on back) - Mustache style carved bridge with staggered bridge pins. - upper bout width 10-3/4” - lower bout width 13-1/2” - body length 19” - soundhole diameter 3-1/2” - nut width 1-11/16” - neck width at 12th fret 2-1/16” - Rosewood fingerboard and bridge, mahogany back and sides. I recently had it professionally set up and adjusted with light gauge .011 strings. Had a bone nut fitted and a new zero fret to get it playing and sounding good. It has cracks on the top, back, and peghead that were previously repaired. I had everything checked out and it is structurally sound. Looks like the bridge and bridge pins were replaced at some point in its life. The action at the 12th fret is set at about 3/32” on the bass side to 2/32” on the treble side. I don't have a case for it. Sold as is, please see pictures for details. Looking for local pickup cash only. Located in Albertson NY, 11507. Thanks!
