This historical coin is a silver 1864 Mexican 10 Centavos, issued during the Second Mexican Empire under Emperor Maximilian I. This particular series was struck for only a few years (1864–1866) and represents a significant period in Mexican history when European powers attempted to establish a monarchy in the country. Composition: 90.3% Silver (.903 fine). Weight: Approximately 2.7073 grams. Mint Mark: Most commonly struck at the Mexico City Mint (indicated by an "M" mint mark).
