Description
ancient Roman bronze, likely from the late 3rd to early 4th century AD, though it’s quite corroded and worn. Let’s go through what can be seen and why it likely falls into that period. Although heavily corroded, there is a faint bust facing right visible in the upper half of the coin. This bust style — with a radiate or laureate head — is typical of the “antoninianus” or follis issues struck from about 270–320 AD. If cleaned by a professional conservator (not polished), some lettering could emerge, confirming emperor and mint.
