Description
Description Taken from reverb) Fender Standard Jazz Black Label bass. Made in Mexico. Alder body. Rosewood fretboard. The black label was used by Fender Mexico for a limited time only between 1993 and 1998. It can be found exclusively on the rather short lived Mexican “Traditional” Precision Bass and other Fender guitars during that period. The guitars and basses with the black label consisted mostly of overstock American made Fender necks and bodies. The parts were shipped to Mexico for assembly. A rumor regarding why they did this was (take this with a grain of salt) apparently these were made with wood from the Corona factory because of a fire there, and they had all of these necks and bodies just sitting around. Too much machinery was damaged to produce American made Fenders so they shipped the bodies and necks down to Mexico. Has upgraded Seymour Duncan Jazz pickups and upgraded hipshot tuners .Very good condition with minimal wear for the age. Everything electronically is fully functional.
