Antique Humphrey RadiantFire #31 gas fireplace heater porcelain and cast iron insert Working antique gas fireplace heater made by the Humphrey Radiantfire Company Manufactured by General Gas Light Company in Kalamazoo, New York. Unpacked weight & size: 38.35lbs, 24"w x 13"d x 22"h Packed weight & size: 50lbs, approx 28"x17"x26" Overall condition is very good and includes 6 whole bisque fire bricks and 4 others that are broken. They can be repaired or replaced. No other broken parts. No dents. Some minor rust and patina as is expected with antiques! Brass has nice aged patina as well - leave as is or polish it up! All gas connections are there, just need your gas hook up to connect This is a Unique Antique American Ornamental Fireplace Insert gas burner or "stove" designed and patented by Alfred H. Humphrey. The Radiantfire gas heater operated on natural gas heating a set of ceramic inserts that would glow and radiate heat into the room. The Humphrey Company was founded in 1901, as the general gas light company in Kalamazoo, Michigan. in 1916, they patented the "Radiantfire" gas heater (there are many different models), which operated on natural gas, heating a set of ceramic inserts that would glow and radiate heat into the room. They became very popular and sold well.
