Rare vintage Oahu parlor guitar, built circa 1937–45 in Chicago (likely by Kay) and sold through the Honolulu Conservatory of Music. This model features the original Oahu “Superior Quality Instrument” label, slotted headstock, pearloid fingerboard, tortoise-celluloid pickguard, and ladder-braced construction. Serial No. 30366. These Oahu guitars are prized for their warm, boxy, vintage tone and are excellent for fingerstyle blues or slide playing. Includes the original 1930s chipboard case. Features: • Oahu Parlor Guitar, serial 30366 • Circa 1937–1945 production • Kay-built (Chicago) • Slotted headstock • Pearloid fingerboard • Tortoise pickguard • Ladder bracing • Original 1930s case Condition: Vintage with normal age wear. Structurally solid. Plays as-is but, like most 80-year-old guitars, may benefit from setup or light restoration depending on preference.
