Description
Rare vintage life-size Albert Einstein fiberglass statue with concealed storage cabinet, circa 1980s. Einstein is depicted holding a stack of antique-style books, which opens to reveal a wooden cabinet with three fixed storage shelves. The original glass monocle and gold-tone chain are both present and intact. The figure also features glass eyes and detailed hand-painted finishes. Approximately 4.5 feet tall. Similar documented examples measure about 54.5” H × 17” W × 17” D. Overall very good vintage condition. Structurally solid with no known cracks or breaks. There are some paint scuffs and normal cosmetic wear from age, primarily on the pants and base, as shown in the photos. Cabinet door, shelves, monocle and chain are all intact. Very unusual piece for a library, office, study, bar, restaurant, school, science collection or eclectic interior. $1,800 OBO
