Description
Up for sale is this fabulous 1964 Fender Vibroverb amplifier. Freshly serviced and ready for the studio or the stage, this desirable blackface amp is ready to rock! Made famous by Stevie Ray Vaughan's prolific use of the amp, the Vibroverb is perhaps the most desirable of the blackface era. Its use of the 15 inch speaker (this one is equipped with an era correct JBL D-130F) delivers deep, thundering bass mixed with a sparkly high end that is simply unattainable on other Fender amps. It starts to break up just about halfway up the dial, but at 40 watts it has plenty of headroom for even a larger sized gig. This mostly original example sports an original circuit, save for the necessary cap job necessary on any vintage amp. The tolex does show some modest wear and tear, and there is a small bit missing on the upper right edge of the front. The wood has been painted black in that area, so it is not that noticeable. The chrome on the tilt-back legs, corners, and handle had at one time been painted black (now removed), but you can see a few remnants of it on the cab. The main changes to the amp are a regrill in vintage spec correct NOS grill cloth according to factory specs, as well as a changed power transformer. It is era correct for blackface amps, and the right one for this amp, but I think it dates to 1967. The wiring harness to the speaker is also a newer replacement. Buyer to pay 8.9% local sales tax. Receipt will be provided. Email for video demo. It sounds fantastic!
