Description

1981 United States Proof Set, which is a collection of coins specially struck in "proof condition" by the U.S. Mint. It includes one of each of the circulating coins for that year: a cent, nickel, dime, quarter, and half-dollar. Proof coins are made with extra care and have a mirror-like finish. The 1981 set was made at the San Francisco mint, indicated by the "S" mint mark on the coins. These sets were produced in limited quantities for collectors.
