It produces large round fruits of exceptional quality. The flesh is creamy and greenish-yellow in color. Julie Frink, who was the curator of the Avocado Variety Collection at the South Coast Research Center in Irvine, said “the best avocado I ever had was a Nabal.” The Reed avocado are very round, very large, thick skinned green avocados with a creamy smooth texture and excellent buttery-flavored flesh. Reed bears early and regularly. The fruits may remain on the tree for a relatively long time after reaching maturity. This variety is resistant to salt burn. Kona Sharwil - Considered by some to be the world’s best, this avocado sets the standard of excellence in Hawaii. A true gourmet avocado. The rich, buttery avocados are small seeded, of excellent quality, and have a smooth creamy texture. The “B” flowered tree is small for an avocado tree, bears generous crops of 8 to 16 oz. ovoid fruit. Once ripe, the fruit will hang on the tree for months, leading to a welcome extension of avocado season. Carmen is a Hass type that can can bloom as much as 4x per year insuring a good annual crop once it matures. Carmen makes commercial Hass-type fruit and has been a top seller to orchards for decades.
