Description
These 4-way speakers work well and sound great. They play loud and reach down low well (22Hz). They were serviced about 3 yrs ago at South Florida Speaker Repair. Cosmetically they have a few nicks, but overall look very attractive. The original cloth grilles are in excellent condition. I need to sell these due to a pending move, but the main reason the price is so low is because the brand is not well known. You will be surprised how good they sound. These speakers sound almost as good as my Klipsch Chorus II’s, which are valued at $1200-$1500. It was a difficult decision to decide between the two, but one pair have to go. My loss is your gain. They are set up to be auditioned. Pick up is in Tamarac. I can help load them. Cash only. Features: - Quad (4X) 10" Woofers featuring vented dust caps and non-deteriorating Butyl rubber surrounds, and AINiCo magnets (1 front, 1 each side and 1 down firing) - 5X 2.5" Mid-Tweeters utilizing AINiCo magnets - Front firing Piezo 'Super Tweeter' horn - "Real" internal cross-over, not just a couple of "caps" on the mids and tweets - Dual 'Hi' and 'Mid' frequency attenuators, using resistors, not failure prone Ni-Chrome wire, for custom tailoring sound to your tastes and listening room - Speaker Protection Circuit Breaker - 10" 'Down Firing' woofer for extended low end into the 'sub' region - 5-Way Banana / Binding Post connectors Specs: System: 4-Way / 7-Driver, Acoustic Suspension with 'Down Firing' 'Sub' Woofer Frequency Response: 22-25,000Hz +/- 3dB Nominal Impedance: 8 Ohms Cross-over frequencies: 2500Hz & 7500Hz Recommended Power Amplifier: 25-100 watts Each measures 39" tall x 16.5" wide x 16.5" deep and weighs 88 Ibs. These are one of the most incredible sounding speakers I have heard in a long time for overall balance, volume / output and power handling capabilities. They have most everything I look for in a home audio speaker such as 'balance', detail, power handling, accuracy, punch and 'largeness of sound'. HUGE in both size and SONICS! If you want to GET LOUD, then these RTR 280DR'S are the ticket. 4-Way / 7-Driver, Acoustic Suspension cabinet design with a 'down firing' woofer for extended bass into the 'sub' region (check the frequency response down to 22HZ! If you want a speaker to GET LOUD and not worry about them, these are about as beefy as you're going to get without going to a pro-audio speaker and still get Hi-Fi detail. Plenty of top end that can be filtered / tailored to your tastes with built-in attenuators. Also DEEP low-end due to the ‘down firing' woofer, that still stays incredibly tight. They are able to handle "power" much better than your average speaker. Not simply referring to their wattage rating, but just the way they perform at higher power / volume levels without "falling apart" sonically. As for the woofers, they have Butyl rubber surrounds so there's no need to worry about replacing foam down the road. Attenuators have been cleaned for static free sonics. Capacitors have been updated. The pictured service receipt is included.
