How it Works iGotcha uses GPRS/GSM technology to communicate with your vehicle in real time. Each unit comes equipped with a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and wireless data modem. The built in web interface makes using iGotcha simple, fast and easy. iGotcha uses each unit's unique electronic serial number and SMS technology to send messages to a hand held device, cell phone or e-mail. The way it works is easy. Commands to locate a vehicle can be sent from any computer that is connected to the internet, these commands will be processed in our data center that will transmit them through cellular technology to the devices installed on your vehicles, then a GPS signal will be requested to a satellite and the coordinates will come back to the origin being able to see in a map the exact location of any of your vehicles. This process happens in just seconds! Quick Facts: GPS Satellites Composed of 24 satellites with an estimated cost of over $12 billion, these are solely owned and operated by the U.S. Government and the Department of Defense. NO private company owns any part of the GPS constellation or has any command or control capabilities over its satellites.
