Description

Beautiful cast iron and steel bed frame. Elegant and hardy. Lovely metal embellishments on the head/base boards. The frame can be disassembled for transport. Note that the largest piece is the headboard at 80'x60'. Pickup is in Hinsdale, IL. The only sign of wear and tear after 20 years is some very mild discoloration of the cast iron pieces, and it only adds character to the overall aesthetic. Solid - the craftsmanship will stand the test of time. The hollow steel beams that make the platform lock in place on both side rails which connect solidly to the head/base boards (see video and third to the last picture). The frame barely moves even if directly shaken. With a mattress it is even sturdier. Like - a rubber mallet is the easiest way I've found to assemble/disassemble it over the years kind of sturdy. It's an amazing piece that, sadly, still must go. Purchased ~2005 from Room&Board for >$1500. Pick up is in Hinsdale. Largest piece is 80'x60' for transporting.
