Unique landscape by Hollywood, California artist Genevieve"Gen" Matucha (American, 1(contact info removed)). The scene depicts a lake or still river, with thin, wispy trees along the banks. One of the trees is lush and green, whereas the other one is red, as if it is in bloom. There are some buildings in the far distance, on the right side, that look like pagodas. Signed "Gen Matucha" in the bottom corner. Stamp from Matucha's studio on verso. Presented in a diamond-shaped mid century modern frame. Frame size: 32.25"H x 42.25"W (widest point corner to corner) Image size: 26"H x 34"W (widest point corner to corner) Genevieve “Gen” Matucha (American, 1(contact info removed)) was known for fingerpainting, primarily in the 1940s and 1950s. She had a studio on Highland Avenue in Los Angeles, and her paintings were sold by Lockridge and Ridgway, and Hubbuch Bros and Wellendorff.
