Up for sale is a classic, vintage 1989 Trek 1000 road bike in great condition. This specific model features a lightweight, bonded 6061-T6 aluminum frame proudly Built in the USA at Trek’s Waterloo, Wisconsin factory. Specs & Features: Frame: USA-Built Aluminum (Size: 58cm) Drivetrain: 2x7 Speed SunTour Edge (52/42T front chainrings, 12-24T rear cluster) Shifters: SunTour Accushift Plus down-tube shifters Upgrades Included: Upgraded Specialized Body Geometry Comp saddle for added comfort, and modern Continental Ultra Sport road tires with plenty of tread left. It also has new grippy handlebar tape Condition: The bike mechanically sounds great, shifts through the gears smoothly, and brakes well. Cosmetically, the original white paint and red decals are in fantastic shape for a 35+ year old bike, with only minor scuffs/scratches typical of a vintage ride (no cracks or dents in the aluminum). Ready to ride! Located in Portage Park, Chicago. Accepting cash only. Pickup in Portage Park only.
