Description
I will probably regret this, but I am listing the iconic Seiko SARB017 for sale. This was purchased in 2017, and, according to the serial number, the watch was manufactured in May of 2017, not long before the SARB017 was discontinued. Since the model was discontinued, it has become something of a collector's item, such that watch collectors will pay a premium for this watch compared to its replacement (the SPB121). While I still love this watch, and while it will always have a special place in my heart, I have not worn this watch much over the past few years. With the addition of a few new pieces to the watch box, I feel like the responsible thing to do is to trim down the collection. Key Specs • Case Diameter: 38mm (46mm lug-to-lug) • Date Window: black date window with no cyclops / date magnifier • Lug Width: 20mm • Movement: Seiko 6R15 (50 hours power reserve, according to Google, movement is rated to +25 / -15 seconds per day) • Water Resistance: 20 atm / 200m / 656 ft • Crystal: Sapphire While I no longer have the box, papers, or the original leather strap, the watch will come with a Hirsch Ranger calfskin leather strap ($69), as well as an Uncle Straps Executive Bracelet, i.e., a jubilee bracelet ($89). Cosmetically, the watch seems to be in good condition considering the number of years I have owned and worn it. I’m not looking at the watch under a magnifying glass or loupe, but the watch has your typical signs of normal day-to-day wear consistent with a watch of its age. While the watch has always run fine, I also had it serviced by a local watchmaker in August of 2025. Based on my non-scientific eye, the watch appears to be running within specs. Price: $850.00 NOTE: I based my price on other listings, including recent sales. I took into account the fact that my watch is not a complete set. However, I also considered the recent service, as well as the fact I am including the extra bracelet. While I am not looking for trades at this time, I might consider trading up for a Tudor or Omega. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking.
