Description
For sale is an antique Chinese porcelain plaque, it was well painted with several people around a Chinese Redbud tree in front of a house. It displays an old story about 3 brothers in ancient time. The 3 brothers were discussing about separation from their house and properties while the Chinese Redbud tree in front of the house became withered. The brothers finally decided not to separate and the tree re-blossomed again. The porcelain plaque is about 16.5x11.5" itself, and 23x18" with the frame. The wood frame was also nicely made in the shape of bamboo. I think this plaque was made in 1900, there is a maker stamp 凌 印beside by caligraphy. I guess it was done by 凌云山人, it was not a person and it was like a company to have many famous artists to draw for it. It is a mystery who was the artist of this painting, may you find out?
