It’s been a dependable vehicle and is fully loaded with features. I really don’t want to sell it, but I’m currently unable to work while going through cancer treatment and need to downsize to a car for more frequent medical trips to Mayo Clinic in Rochester. The Good: Clean title, 2-owner vehicle (originally from Arizona – no major rust) 4WD and towing package – ready for any weather or hauling Leather, heated, powered seats (front) Rear DVD entertainment system Electric sunroof “Cow catcher” front brush guard Powerful V8 engine (approx. 150k miles on engine, 200k+ on body) Recent repairs: O2 sensor, mass air flow sensor, rear brake pads/caliper/rotors/hose, spark plugs and wires, lower steering shaft Upgraded wheels and off-road tires, tinted windows, aftermarket headlights and taillights Comfortable on long drives – regularly driven to and from Rochester with no issues on freeway The Issues: Power steering only works well above ~25mph – likely related to hydro boost; this also makes the brakes feel like ABS is kicking in at lower speeds Transmission began shifting slower recently—RPMs rise before shifting, especially at low speeds; it still drives fine on the highway A belt was squeaking right before the shifting issue started—treated it and the squeak went away This Tahoe still has a lot to offer and has been reliable for long hauls. It’s a great buy for someone mechanically inclined or looking for a solid SUV to put a little work into. Selling it for a fair price to help get into a smaller vehicle that fits my medical situation better.
