In good Antique condition with a small nic on the one scalloped rim, last photo shows details. 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" weighing 4 oz A Bit of History The Imperial Glass Company, founded in Bellaire Ohio in 1901 by former riverboat captain Edward Muhleman is renowned among collectors for its "Spectacular Purple" or amethyst carnival glass While the company began production in 1904 it entered the carnival glass market in late 1908 or 1909 to compete with early leaders like Fenton & Northwood The Imperial #700 Colonial Amethyst Flute Carnival Glass Toothpick Holder was originally produced in the early 1900s with primary production dating back to around 1910–1913. Imperial's amethyst carnival glass is characterized by a deep purple base glass treated with iridescent metallic salts to create a shimmering multi-colored finish.
