This is a two light professional kit with two seven head CFL bulbs. The soft boxes on this are brand new and have only been assembled once before. If you're looking for studio or photography lights or even for video and need a very soft lighting without hard shadows this will take care of that need. When I looked at this I looked into normal strobe lights but I didn't like the noise that many other fans made inside of those. You can have these lights right next to you and they will produce absolutely no noise for you to edit back out in the post-production that is the number one benefit of them. The squiggly CFL bulbs have more surface area of a light than traditional bowls so this setup has an extremely large surface area of lights so that you get light evenly around every area of the softbox. If you're doing green screen and editing the background you want something that makes light evenly around the entire area. With traditional flash robes the modeling lights give off a yellow hue and this gives one constant daylight 5600K color. You can't even find this lighting system anymore it was the most powerful one produced with these type of bulbs. There's no substitute for having enough power or light, that's why I went with the strongest one I could find at the time without getting into strobe lights. They have these with one or two bulbs, that simply are not powerful enough to accomplish much. This is one of the most powerful kits available and it puts out plenty of light and there are two baffles and one can be removed to make it even brighter. You can you use an umbrella with these, there is a space in the head for that or you can use it with a soft boxes that come with it, I use umbrellas mostly but the soft boxes are great for more controlled light. The vertical lights have a total of seven bulbs each, on one of them one of these sockets is not working. However six of them are plenty to do anything that you need. There is a switch on the back of it so you can turn on just a few of them at a time or all of them if necessary. If you've been using ring lights or LED back lights, they can't give you the diffusion that a large soft box will do, there is no substitute for that. I'm selling this with the bulbs, the head, and the soft boxes. The larger the softbox the softer the light and these are very substantial. These can be set up in your studio and use on a daily basis for years to come. Light stands not included.
