Description
EXTRAORDINARY 19TH CENTURY AESTHETIC MOVEMENT BRASS EASEL. The top section features a large bird on a branch with leaves, flowers and fruit. NOTE*** The lower frieze is missing the seat and the back is missing its stand to make it stand on its own. ** last photo is for reference, the first photo is actual piece, as the other was sold at Auction for $2,600 . The scene also includes an easel and scattered flowers and artist implements. The flower and fruit motif is continued on either side of the lower frieze and is bracketed by large flower and leaf knobs that support the paintings being displayed. The easel is "as found" with a subtle patina, mostly still a bright brass with some darker spots expected in a piece this old. This exceptional piece of Victoriana is fully adjustable and very sturdy. It can be adjusted to display any art that is between 12-48 inches high. The easel stands an impressive 72 inches tall and 23 inches at the widest point. Very good original condition, it would be afine addition to any Aesthetic Movement collection or for anyone who wants to own an exceptional piece of 19th c decor. Circa 1885-95.
