I thought I would show her off. I have her paired with some Energy C-4 towers in my bedroom system, and it is crisp and clear. Testing shows response is solid down to 30Hz. 100 watts/channel stereo 20-20k 0.08% THD. The power supply will pull 5.8 amps, so it’s likely the numbers are accurate with this one. Build quality is excellent with heavy duty extruded aluminium heat sinks and a very bright display. Far brighter in fact than any of my other gear. Tuner is also excellent for the era, with clear reception and stability. Not much in the way of bells and whistles - there is 5.1 channel processing which is bypassed for stereo use. There is no bass management for the main channels. This receiver weighs 36.4 pounds, nearly 7 pounds heavier than the equivalent Pioneer Elite of the era (VSX-07TX)! This was the penultimate receiver in the lineup from around 1999, and the first generation to have built in Dolby Digital processing. They retailed for around $1500 when new, and certainly have the quality and sound commensurate with the price.
