1997 Mitsubishi Delica Space Gear

MECHANIC'S SPECIAL!!! Sold with a clean US title. The Good: It's a Jasper, and cheap, lowish miles, minimal rust, relatively straight body, good tires, reasonably tidy interior, TWO new batteries. The Bad: Intermittently and randomly it will stall out and die, seemingly from fuel starvation. We suspect an air leak in the fuel system or weak injection pump. Recently resealed the rear of the injection pump where a leak was found and the van ran perfectly for my mechanic for about 30 miles. Then I drove it and it stalled after about 3 miles. After 15 seconds of cranking it fired right back up and drove another 5 miles without a hitch. But it continues to exhibit this same kind of behavior.
