Description

This is an extremely rare and highly sought after original Chicopee wood shaft putter from the A&G Spalding Brothers company. It has the dot punched face, Chicopee Putter stamped on back and A&G Spalding Brothers stamp on the sole. It’s over 100 years old originally produced around 1919. It has a dark patina which could be removed to better show the dot punched face on this iron head, but most collectors agree never to remove the patina because it reduces the value of the putter. The shaft is straight and tight in the hosel. I added a $35 Super Stroke leather stitched grip, but never gamed it (cause I fell in love with my Bettinardi and LAB putters …lol), but I did practice with it and there’s nothing like the feedback you get from a wood shafted putter. You’ll see how clean the grip is in the last pictures (after I cleaned it). This putter has been a part of my collection for at least 25 years and cost me a lot back then. Slightly negotiable.
