Large petrified wood with polished section. Over 9 lbs!

A genuine piece of ancient history — this 9.1 lb petrified wood specimen once stood as living tree, millions of years ago, before mineral-rich groundwater slowly replaced its organic material with silica, cell by cell, preserving its structure in stone. One end has been cut and lightly polished, revealing the smooth cross-section grain in soft gray, cream, and warm tan tones — you can see the wood's natural growth pattern frozen in place. The rest of the piece retains its raw, beautifully textured bark-like exterior, so you get both the "before and after" of petrification in a single specimen: nature's rough original surface next to the polished stone it became. At over 9 pounds, this is a substantial, room-anchoring piece — ideal as a bookend, a freestanding display specimen on a shelf or mantle, or a conversation-starting paperweight for a large desk. No two petrified wood pieces are alike, and this one carries real weight (literally) as a natural history piece rather than a decorative reproduction. Details: Weight: 9.1 lbs One face cut and polished; remaining surfaces natural/raw 100% natural petrified wood, no dye or treatment Colors: gray, cream, tan, soft gold tones Great for: display, bookend, desk piece, collector gift Natural material — sizes, colors, and grain patterns vary piece to piece.
