For sale are a vintage, Avon Fostoria glass Mount Vernon, George and Martha Washington, collectible plate/dish and goblets from the 70’s. Fostoria produced glassware is considered to be more valuable because of its higher quality. Higher quality means better looking glassware and it means more valuable glassware for collectors. Over the years Fostoria has developed a name that is well recognized amongst collectors. The glass plate/dish is a gorgeous cobalt blue, is translucent, and is an oval shape with generously scalloped edges to give it some unique texture. The upper surface is smooth, with a stunning embossed motif dominating the center. Mount Vernon is displayed in all it's glory - from the pillars to the grand entrance to the cupolas. "Mount Vernon" is written in cursive along the top, along with "George and Martha Washington" in bold lettering along the bottom. It measures 9 1/8” L x 6 5/8” W x 5/8” H. One of the more popular Avon Fostoria pieces are these cobalt blue George and Martha Washington goblets. One features a George Washington stamp and the other features a Martha Washington stamp. They were originally sold as candle holders. They are 8” tall with a 3 ¼” opening. The plate and goblets are pre-owned, however, they have been very well taken care of and are in excellent, like new condition.
