Description
Common Name: Horsetail Plant Description Name: Equisetum hymale "Horsetail Reed" Very distinctive Jointed bamboo-like stems, Cylindrical habit when grown in a container. Grows up to 5' tall. Each container has about 4 to 6 rhizomes. Equisetum, commonly known as horsetail, is a relatively easy plant to grow, particularly in moist or wet conditions. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and can tolerate a range of soil types, including sandy, clay, or even boggy areas. To successfully grow horsetail, ensure the soil remains consistently moist, and consider its potential for spreading, especially in favorable conditions. Controlling Spread: To prevent excessive spread, consider planting in containers or using barriers to restrict rhizome growth. Pickup by appointment only.
