Description
Letter from Preserved Smith, who was a well-respected businessman in the Railroad Industry. Lived from 1820 to 1887. I posted a paragraph about him in the pictures. If you're into railroads, it's worth the read. Dayton Ohio July 15th 1867 dates the letter. Reconstruction times! Barney and Smith was a railroad car manufacturer. See all pics and ask any questions. Excellent letterhead. I think he's explaining that he can not find something in the state. But his wife and daughter are back in Boston, and he will go spend time with them. Pick up in James Island near folly beach. Comes in a protector sleeve and backing board.
