Description
This is a home sized (smaller than arcade, does not take money) Fireball classic pinball machine. This is great for young kids or people who want to try out pinball. It doesn’t take up as much space as my regular machines, fits great where I have it too - so don’t message me about the price - I’ll change it if/when I want :) History: These machines were popular for a while in the late 70’s and 80’s. This was a kit that was sold through the SEARS catalog as a parent and child project. 10,000 were produced in 1976. As they started to break, people threw them away instead of repairing them as they were considered toys instead of “real pin-ball machines”. TODAY: Adults who are seriously into pinball don’t consider this a “real” pinball machine but they all like to message me about how much it’s worth. Because of this and the history, these machines are becoming rare and there are 3 (including this one) for sale according to a recent Google search. WARNING: The other pinball machines all seem overpriced, probably because they want to keep them too - but I’m not going to reach out to them and act like the folks who provide me with unsolicited advice on the price from this offering. They own the machine, market value doesn’t take into effect the pricelessness of my kids smiles as they interact with this machine and try to beat the high score. MARKET: One in LA selling for $5k, one in northern Cali selling for $2.5k, and this one. Are we all idiots, maybe - that’s the price. In this condition, mine is worth more than the ones posted in California and it’s fully functional and freshly checked/waxed and 100% fun. **There have been a few sell between $500-$900 in various second-hand applications and marketplaces across America. All of my kids love this machine, perfect size for my 8 & 10 year old - momma said list it so… this is the price I would sell at. Hey, she didn’t say I have to sell… just list. We are the 3rd owners and it comes with all the original paperwork and extra parts if you really want it. Super fun game and reliable for those who have kids that are tough on toys. APPEAL: These machines are made for kids, they can take a tilt and a kid thrashing on it and keep going unlike the regular machines that need repaired when adults play them “too rough.” VERY IMPORTANT: Don’t buy this - wait for someone who is really into pinball to list theirs under $800. They’ll regret it later but don’t tell them that when you pick it up. It may happen in a few weeks, or a few months, but I have been assured by many pinballers that mine is overpriced and I should be ashamed of myself for owning it - ha! My kids will still be enjoying it, and people’s opinions are like birthdays- everyone has one and nobody cares about anyone else’s. Lastly, no rush in selling on my end. If you have a family that would absolutely enjoy this machine, I’m sure we can work something out. Until then, I’ll keep making the pinball “experts” mad with my CRAZY price 😁 Be well my friends
