We signed up with CenturyLink and few months back and decided to purchase the modem/router outright instead of leasing it for $9.99 a month. Our working assumption was that we would be staying with them long enough to cover that cost. Unfortunately, we have decided to switch to Comcast because that's the only way we can get the Xfinity home security system. So we have this nearly brand new piece of equipment from CenturyLink (because Xfinity gives you a hard time about using a CenturyLink modem, of course).
